Rian and Alyssa bought Root Adorned in June of 2025, drawn to the idea of building a space rooted in community. Step inside and you're surrounded by plants and all things intentional and beautiful — a shop that reflects how they like to live, and an invitation for you to do the same.
On Bend's east side, you'll find their other passion project, Big Story Bookstore, a used and new bookstore stocked with stories for every kind of reader, plus a curated selection of vinyl for the music lovers too. And out in Sisters, Oregon, they own Modern Mountain Cottage, a newly built mid-term vacation rental home furnished with a thoughtful mix of modern and vintage pieces. It's the perfect place for guests looking to slow down and unwind in the mountains.
When they're not at one of their shops, you'll find them keeping up with their two teenagers, getting lost in a good book, staying active, and hunting down their next favorite local restaurant.
