Vintage Ouazguita Moroccan Rug (6' 9" x 3’ 10”)

  • $1,100.00

This exceptional vintage Ouazguita rug hails from the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, a region celebrated for its bold and expressive tribal weavings. It showcases a vivid indigo-blue field, striking fire-red panels, and powerful geometric medallions, all framed by richly patterned borders in golden yellow, crimson, and deep black.

Hand-knotted from 100% wool, the pile is remarkably soft underfoot, a testament to the skill and materials used by its Berber makers. The rug is in remarkable vintage condition, retaining both its vibrant color palette and its plush, inviting texture.

Symbolic motifs—stepped lozenges, crosses, and repeating tribal patterns—carry ancestral meaning tied to protection, strength, and continuity. Beyond its artistry, this rug reflects the living heritage of the Ouazguita weaving tradition.
