Vintage Ouazguita Moroccan Rug (9' 9" x 4’ 6”)

  • $2,150.00

This refined vintage Ouazguita rug comes from the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, where Berber weavers are celebrated for their bold geometric compositions and symbolic tribal artistry. Unlike the saffron and crimson tones often seen in this weaving tradition, this piece is woven in a sophisticated natural palette of warm ivory, earthy browns, and soft taupes, giving it an understated elegance perfectly suited to both traditional and modern interiors.

The rug features a layered diamond medallion design, framed by stepped motifs and intricate border patterns that symbolize protection and harmony. Its balanced symmetry and tonal contrasts highlight the weaver’s artistry, while the natural, undyed wool fibers bring organic warmth and authenticity.

Hand-knotted from 100% hand-spun wool, the pile is buttery-soft and durable underfoot, a testament to the time-honored skill and natural materials used by its Berber makers. This rug is in excellent vintage condition, with a supple texture and an elegant patina developed over decades.
